Our Review Of The Springhill Suites Marriott Springdale Zion National Park

Review Springhill Suites Marriott Springdale Zion NAtional Park Where to stay

This was the view from our pool, it is also the view from the dining room

In short, we loved our stay here. That was in part due to the Springhill Suites Springdale Marriott  itself and its location and in part due to Springdale being absolutely beautiful and lovely. We knew from the pictures on the website that there were beautiful views from this hotel but the pictures can’t do it justice! Keep reading for room and hotel details.

The view was the first thing we noticed of course, and the next thing was how pretty the lobby is. It is really beautifully decorated and spacious and the floor to ceiling windows at the back of the lobby give you another view of the gorgeous mountains.

Check in was easy and we were directed to the closest place to park to access our room. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was the hope for spacious rooms and a mini fridge/microwave because we stopped for groceries for lunches, snacks and drinks at the Walmart in Hurricane, UT on our way in from Vegas and needed a place to store the refrigerated items.

Marriott Springhill Suites

This was just upon entering the room, the microwave and fridge helped us keep groceries in the room for lunches, snacks, etc.

We stayed in the Suite, 2 Queen, with Sofa Bed and the room did not disappoint. We had a lots of good space for our family to spread out and the sofa bed was actually a long couch that had a trundle that pulled out and rolled back under the bed easily. For our family of four (kids ages 12 and 8), this was great because the girls didn’t share a bed, my youngest slept on the trundle and loved it. According to the website this room has a maximum occupancy of 5, which surprised me because another kid could have easily slept on the couch making room for a family of 6.

2 Queen Bed Suite. The desk area was really helpful for making a take out buffet or fixing sandwiches to pack for our hike.

There was a very large, walk-in closet in our room. This was really nice as my oldest daughter likes more privacy so she set up that as a changing room for herself making getting ready easier. A pack n’ play could be set up in here for black out sleeping and to keep a lot of space in the room. Actually, this closet was so large you could use it a lot of ways!

The bathroom was nice and was spacious as well, the downside was that the sink, shower and toilet were all in one room together. I love it when the toilet is given its own room making it easier for more than one person using various aspects of the bathroom at one time.

And finally, the fridge/microwave/coffee area was great for giving us a place to store food and drinks in the fridge and also just on the floor in that area. The other thing that ended up being really helpful was the desk area that was near the fridge area. I was able to set up sandwich stuff for making sandwiches or if we got takeout that was shareable (like our takeout from Dulivia Ristorante Italiano) we were able to create a buffet for our food for everyone to serve themselves from.

The other wonderful part of the facility was the pool. The pool is at the back of the hotel and has gorgeous mountain views from it. There were incredibly comfortable, padded lounge chairs. I’m talking fancy resort cabana level lounge chairs, not at all what I was expecting from a Springhill Suites! There was also an outdoor stone fireplace and bathrooms and a hot tub. Right behind the hotel there was a patio with tables and chairs and a gas fireplace. We did takeout every night for dinner and ate here on the patio and enjoyed the view. I couldn’t imagine the view being better at any restaurant!

The pool itself was good, the lounge chairs were actually pretty great - paddle, the pool area was excellent, very pretty, and the view - spectacular!

Breakfast is included with your stay (starts at 6:00 a.m.) and it is a hearty buffet style breakfast with hot and cold options with a variety of condiments and toppings. While we were there we consistently saw scrambled eggs, potatoes and sausage on the hot bar along with an oatmeal station and there are two Belgian waffle makers…quite a popular option, make sure to leave some time to wait in line to make one if you are eating breakfast when it is busy! There are a variety of bread options that can be toasted, yogurt, and sweet breads like muffins and mini scones. There is also cereal, milk and juice. And of course COFFEE. There was also hot chocolate packets by the coffee station and my kids loved that! We overall enjoyed the breakfast, felt like the quality was good for this level of hotel and the food was being attended to and replenished regularly even though it was quite busy!

The location of the Springhill Suites Zion National Park is another reason why we chose it and again, it did not disappoint. While we did not utilize the town shuttle while we were there because as east coasters, we were up and out the door early before the town shuttle even was running this time of year (it starts at 8:00 in the spring) there is a shuttle stop right outside the hotel. My understanding is that because this is one of the first stops on the way to Zion National Park it is easy to get on the shuttle before it gets full. We loved that this location was very walkable to Zion Guru (0.2 miles) as well as restaurants, ice cream and shops (we spent one afternoon shopping in Springdale and didn’t need to take a car). There is also an ABC store (which is part of a gift shop) right in front of the hotel (next to Dulivia Ristorante Italiano) making picking up beer and wine for the room very easy.

Finally, we found customer service to be outstanding here. We enjoyed the Springhill Suites and Springdale so much that we asked to extend our stay by one night and spend one less night in Bryce Canyon (excellent decision on our part) and the person at the front desk let us know that there was in fact one room left but the price was more than double what we had paid for a night stay. She explained how dynamic pricing with Marriott works based on availability and that once the manager got in that she would talk with her about it and that likely a lower price would be offered to us and she would hold the room in the meantime. We had let her know that if we could extend our stay for our current price that we would definitely like the room, and once we returned from our day in the park we were told that our extended stay could be accommodated at the current price. We were ecstatic because we didn’t want to leave this beautiful place yet!

The Springhill Suites by Marriott Springdale Zion National Park got two thumbs up from our entire crew and we are looking forward to the day we can return!
